Hi, I’m Michael, a second-year mathematics student at the University of Greenwich. During my first year I completed a few different general modules like Calculus or Linear Algebra but I quickly found a big interest in Statistics and Data Analysis and the big importance of data in today’s world. This interest led me to develop my skills on diverse programming languages like Python or R.

Beyond my academic duties, I am very interested in learning about other cultures. This curiosity led me to participate in a two-week exchange program with my University where students from the Henan University of Economics and Law in China took us on a guided tour through the city and surroundings. During this trip we also spent time sharing perspectives with the students, learning the language and participating in cultural workshops together.

This experience builds on my previous international volunteering work in Kathmandu, Nepal. There, I spent two weeks supporting a local family by helping them with essential daily duties and community tasks like feeding the animals or harvesting the crops.

Outside of mathematics, you will probably find me planning my next challenge. I am very passionate about sports and physical health, which led me to participate in my first half marathon last year in London, and I am currently preparing for my first full marathon next year in Rome. This passion for sport inspired me to get my certificate as a Pilates instructor in 2026 with London Pilates Academy and it's also an escape route whenever I feel overwhelmed or just want to inmersed myself in my own thoughts
